Self Build
Lakeland Timber Frame offers a co-operative self-build service to private individuals. We will work with you and your architect to provide the best timber framed solution for your building project. As well as supplying and erecting the timber frame, we can offer advice on the whole building process.
Using our in-house design expertise and CAD modelling system, we can determine and show exactly how your project will be fabricated at every stage. The viability of the structure will be checked and verified by an independent, certified structural engineer. The engineer ensures that the integrity, strength and substance of the timber frame meet the recommended standards.
We will then construct the timber frames and components in our workshop facility, so that they can be assembled quickly and easily. Once foundations are prepared, we will erect the timber frame on site.
The advantages of timber framed construction are well known and it is becoming more widely used because of environmental and energy conservation concerns. Advantages include:
